Annual Report 2019-20

The 2019–20 Annual Report captures a year divided by one event. It records progress made before COVID-19, then turns towards the upheaval that arrived just as the report was being prepared. Its “In Focus” section follows young people and families whose plans for work, education and independence were abruptly unsettled, making the unequal effects of the pandemic immediate rather than abstract. Alongside these stories, the report examines how DRF protected programme continuity, moved classroom learning online and developed GROW Digital, while extending support to returning migrants and introducing community awareness through SAMHITA. The result is both an account of the year completed and an early record of institutional adaptation under pressure. Read this edition to understand the fault line between steady social progress and sudden vulnerability, and to see how agility, innovation and digital capability began moving from organisational priorities to practical tools for keeping low-income communities connected to opportunity.
