Annual Report 2014-15

Organised around children, youth, women and households, the 2014–15 Annual Report signals a way of understanding inclusive growth. Instead of presenting programmes as separate verticals, it shows how education, skills and rural livelihoods intersect across different stages of life. The report moves from neighbourhood and government schools to job-focused training for young people, including persons with disabilities, and then into the economic choices of women and farming households. Its stories are close to everyday decisions: returning to education, entering an unfamiliar workplace, changing a cultivation practice or finding work without leaving home. The scale is growing too, with the School Improvement Programme reaching more schools, LABS operating across 20 states and rural livelihoods expanding rapidly through locally relevant technologies. Read this edition for the shift in perspective it captures: from delivering individual programmes to building pathways through which people and families can exercise greater agency over learning, work and income.
