Annual Report 2021-22

The 2021–22 Annual Report opens in the aftermath of the pandemic’s devastating second wave, but its attention quickly turns from disruption to resilience and redesign. It records how DRF combined relief and health-system support with physical, digital and hybrid programme delivery, accelerating changes that once appeared years away. The report’s special feature then widens the lens to climate justice, asking how climate action can protect the people least responsible for, yet most exposed to, environmental risk. Through climate-smart agriculture, lead farmers and practices such as direct-seeded rice and zero tillage, it shows how water conservation, lower emissions and stronger farm incomes can be pursued together. Emerging priorities in primary healthcare, digital learning, green jobs and self-employment for persons with disabilities point towards the next phase of DRF’s evolving work. Read this edition for a grounded account of how crisis-tested systems began supporting a broader, more sustainable and inclusive development agenda.
