Ways of imagining

Tomorrow

What does the future look like when each of us gets a say? For one person, it is a classroom that encourages questions beyond the textbook. For another, it is a secure livelihood, an accessible workplace or a village with dependable healthcare.

Our time capsule brought these wishes together, asking colleagues to imagine India in 2047 and DRF over the next twenty years. Some wishes recurred across programmes and teams. Others pointed to possibilities we might otherwise overlook, from universities for art and design to market access for artisans.

Here, we explore the hopes people share and the details that make each vision distinct. What does better education mean to our colleagues? How does the work they do shape the future they picture?

The analysis that follows traces these connections, pairing themes with specific ideas and voices. Together, they offer a glimpse of the futures our colleagues wish to see.
