The beneficiaries are selected from engineering colleges, polytechnics and ITIs (in the Computer Science, IT and Electronics & Telecommunication streams).
The total duration of the training program is two years. It begins with a 45-day classroom training session, during which the trainees are oriented to the telecom sector, introduced to basic technical aspects, and given basic IT skills and soft skills. The rest of the training program is divided into four modules of six months each, which includes on-the-job training in various field sites of Tata Communications across India.
The trainees receive a monthly stipend during their internship. On successful completion of the two-year program, they are awarded a certificate in ‘Field Telecom Engineering’ jointly by DRF and Tata Communications. |
