Pilot Initiatives

In the words of our Chairman Dr Anji Reddy, “DRF is a laboratory for catalyzing innovative, reproducible and sustainable experiments for social change. For social metamorphosis to be faster, we have identified our role as catalysts and precipitators in this process.”

Converting a promising idea into a viable model requires an on-going creative process working hand-in-hand with analysis, experimentation and launch of a prototype. This process also calls for need-based adjustment, as DRF tests and refines various ideas through a mixture of action and research.

As the idea is refined, the original operating model is developed further in accordance with prospects for resource mobilization. DRF begins this resource mobilization process by committing its own resources initially, coupled with a quest to forge strategic alliances with like-minded potential partners.

Some of our pilot initiatives include:
  • Scouting for rural livelihoods in AP and Maharashtra.
  • A special LABS center for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kurnool (AP).
  • A QUEST project to demonstrate cost-effective distance learning with satellite-based education technology
